Job free(ish)

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/174374/Dead_Rising_2_developer_suffers_layoffs.php
I won't comment much on this, Capcom Vancouver is expanding and its ways of dealing with projects and technology are peculiar, some people found themselves to be not ideal fits. I did my best to honestly guide my area, as usual, in a way that I believe was for the best. It has been a very intense, stressful experience and that is why the blog also did't see many updates.
I doubt that I will be able to stay in Vancouver, considering the way the game industry is going here (I'm guessing this city became too expensive for what it offers to big game studios).
I will probably have some more time to update this blog. Stay tuned.

Update - I'll join a team until December for a project I'm really excited about, focusing on topics that are very dear to me. Then, I don't know yet... Thanks to everybody for the support and opportunities offered.

Any interest in Google? Chrome needs people who know GPUs; not only for accelerating HTML rendering but also games with WebGL and Native Client.

That sucks! :(

FWIW Naughty dog is always looking for good rendering programmers. Let me know if you'd be interested.

James: yes, Google is one of the things I wanted to explore, I have been in contact with them before but I didn't end up interviewing.

John: I love The Last of Us trailer, I don't know if I've sent my CV there before but it was indeed on my todo list.

If you want to contact me directly my account is c0de517e on gmail!

Oh god! Didn't you, like, get that job fairly recently? In bocca al lupo!

Damn. Good luck! One potential problem with jobs in the US right now is that H1B pool has already been exhausted for this year, so you wouldn't be able to start until Oct 2013.

MaciejS: I know, that's bad. There is the option of an O1 as far as I understood from previous experiences, but it's not easy...

5TH Cell is looking for a graphics programmer :)

And we're in Bellevue, which is only 2.5 hours from Vancouver.

Thanks a lot Brittany, but with the H1Bs closed I don't think it would be easy to move the the US. The only way is through the O1 which is tricky...

We're also keen to get a new senior render engineer here at Trion -- http://www.trionworlds.com/en/careers/redwood-shores/?ID=DC924538459 multiplatform and on a fair variety of different sorts of titles. Drop me a line at kbjorke at trionworld, we might have some ideas about visas etc too
